IE (Internet Explorer) BugsUsers of this web site running on Internet Explorer 5 or 6 and even 7 (to some extent) may find various bugs and errors when viewing the Eagle Tyres website. Websites, especially one that uses complex and precise positioning like this one relies heavily on what is called CSS. CSS, short for Cascading Style Sheets, basically is a method by which website styling, layout and presentation can be achieved. It is a very powerful tool used by the majority of website designers the world over. Its function is to basically tell an object contained in a page of a website, how it should display itself. This method is the preferred method of today, in contrast to the traditional method of coding the appearance and behavior of an object using workarounds and various other cheats. The WWW (World Wide Web) was created by engineers and scientists. It uses HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol) as a means to transfer document from one location to another and HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language) is the language by which a page on the internet is read, most commonly by a browser. Browsers interpret HTML and displays it as an easy-to-read document, much like one you would type on microsoft word or other various text editing software. True to its origins, HTML was only equipped with very basic word formatting tools. It has headings, paragraphs, lists, bold, italics and underline text formatting, tables for the representation of data, definition lists, a method by which to display images and so on. More significantly, it has hyperlinks; this is what enables one page to link to another, and then another and so on to form the internet as a whole. The original design of the HTML, however, did not include methods for altering the layout of pages on websites. As the internet grew as a marketing tool, the demand for such a method grew. So much so that traditional website designers used various cheats and workarounds to achieve such an effect, such as using tables to layout a page. The tables would contain tables within another table which results in a whole heap of code only to achieve a simple layout. This method is time-consuming, very hard to implement and very hard to decode and edit if the need arises in the future, not to mention very unfriendly to search engines. Search engine algorithms have to rummage through twenty lines of code before they can find the actual content of a particular page because of this method. Finally, the need of layout is properly answered with the arrival of the CSS. CSS meant that objects can be precisely positioned on a page in numerous ways, only by altering a single line of code in the body of the document. The actual code that contains the information as to how a particular style is displayed is kept in the head section of the page, one that contains irrelevant information to users and search engines. Perfect! CSS seemed like the perfect solution for website designers. However, it is not without its weaknesses. Its achilles heel, as it would, lies in browsers not being able to display CSS modified content correctly. Over time, Almost all browsers have adapted to CSS save for one: Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer 5 and 6 still have a hard time displaying CSS modified pages correctly, and this website is no exception. It uses multiple CSS documents which must relate properly with each other for the proper effect to be achieved. Moreover, Internet Explorer 5 and 6 also cannot display PNG image transparency, giving those images an opaque background. Unfortunately, the question of upgrading to the latest version of IE, which is IE 8, is not such a simple one. If you are running Windows 2000 or older, the most you'll be able to upgrade to is IE 6. Windows XP users, the most you can upgrade to is IE 7. Only those lucky enough to be running Windows Vista can enjoy using IE 8, Microsoft's latest browser. Our website designers are working round the clock to make the Eagle Tyres website IE compliant. However, in the meantime, if you are using IE and are unable to upgrade your version to IE 8 or at least IE 7, we strongly suggest you try using other alternative browsers. Our top pick would be Firefox, which is free, has very user-friendly features, has a similar interface to IE and is at least five times faster in loading pages (claimed by Firefox). That being said, thank you for reading; check back regularly for more news and announcements - Eagle Tyres New american multi piece forged wheels coming soon to Eagle Tyres. Check this page regularly to see it first. The new range of wheels, manufactured by an already established brand wheels manufacturer's in the U.S., will be multi-piece and features the latest technology in that particular method of wheels construction. The new brand, being multi-piece, will feature a welded wall on which the face is bolted into the lips. This means that, apart from the size and width, offset is completely customizable. When you change cars, you can take your favorite set of wheels and change the offset to suit the new car. Another advantage to being able to change the offset is of course, more dish. Lower offset represent more dish, and these wheels' offset can be moved in the negative range. Also, sometimes when you buy a new set of wheels the offset don't really suit your car. At times, the wheels stick out from the guards and can potentially damage your guards, especially if you lower your car. Other times, the wheels are so tucked in, you can barely see the face of the wheels from an angle. The desired effect of modifying the wheels of your car is to have them sit "just right": as far out as it can go without potentially damaging the guards. Now with this upcoming range, those problems are a thing of the past. Order your wheels, or select from our extensive floor stock. Change the offset to suit your car to achieve the desired look and enjoy the result. Last but not least: the design. This new range will feature stylish, clean and elegant lines; a most welcomed addition to our luxury wheels range.
